The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance

The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 19,000-field staff.

In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Dnipro, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Odesa.

The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the position of Cashier in its sub-delegation/ delegation in Odesa.

Purpose:

The Technical Worker performs simple technical tasks that require minimum qualifications or relevant experience, under supervision.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the proper maintenance of all Odesa premises and infrastructure and reports any repair to the Premises Manager;
  • Makes routine electrical works: installs switches, bulbs, installs light fixtures, etc.
  • Ensures proper functioning of electric & water supply systems
  • Supervises the installation and functioning of generators
  • Ensures proper installation and maintenance of furniture and equipment, as well as its allocation upon request of Premises Manager
  • In collaboration with Logistics participates in the purchase of needed items related to the premises needs
  • Ensures delivery of water and other supply to the premises
  • Contributes to premises inventory
  • Collaborates with external suppliers and supervises execution of repairs and maintenance works

  • The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Primary school education
  • Technical College is an asset
  • Similar work experience desirable
  • Basic knowledge of English is an asset
