Mission and objectives

As a key development actor, United Nations Development Programme works to prevent conflict and build peace by promoting an integrated approach, support long-term development solutions for preventing violent extremism, and fostering confidence and healing tensions in communities living in protracted conflict situations. As a part of this global effort, the UNDP Regional Bureau for the Arab States (UNDP RBAS) Regional Hub in Amman brings together the capacities and skill sets to assist and provide technical support and to country offices (COs) to meet the emerging and challenging needs and priorities in the region.

Context

The online volunteers will work in context of the Governance & Peacebuilding teams, UNDP Bureau for the Arab States, to support print and visual requirements for key publications on disability and human rights and insider mediation and peacebuilding. Task description

We are looking for 2 online volunteers to work with the Governance & Peacebuilding teams to support the UNDP RBAS. The specific tasks include: 1. Design creative print content establishing a unique visual identity and layout, including graphics, images, visuals, and edit/enhance visual presentation of pending publications in the thematic area of rights of persons with disabilities. 2. Finalize, edit/enhance, and update visual content, including graphics, images, and visuals, for a pending publication on the thematic area of peacebuilding.

Requirements

Required experience

Candidate should have excellent creative skills in visual communication and design, and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in graphic and visual design (particularly using Adobe software suite and web platforms such as Canva). Previous experience with visual design (share links/attachments to 2-3 samples of previous work); A diploma in graphic or visual design and a bachelor’s degree in experience communications, public relations, journalism, or related field is considered an asset.
