Objetivos del Departamento El Objetivo del departamento de Emergencias (PHE) de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS/OMS) es aumentar la resiliencia frente a emergencias y desastres. PHE asiste a los Estados Miembros en fortalecer las capacidades del sector de la salud en prevención, reducción de riesgos, preparación, vigilancia, respuesta y recuperación temprana para emergencias y desastres relacionados con cualquier amenaza (natural, causada por el hombre, biológica, química, radiológica y otras). Además, cuando las capacidades nacionales están desbordadas, para dirigir y coordinar la respuesta sanitaria internacional y contener los desastres, incluidos los brotes epidémicos, y brindar socorro y recuperación eficaces a las poblaciones afectadas. PHE es responsable de asegurar la implementación y actualización de la política de respuesta institucional para emergencias y desastre de la OPS/OMS.


Contexto Organizacional (Opcional)

El titular de este puesto es un miembro de la Unidad de CPI y del equipo regional de respuesta que está apoyando la recuperación posterior al terremoto del 14 de agosto del 2021en Haiti y la actual respuesta al brote de Cólera.

Su misión consistirá en facilitar apoyo técnico al Secretariado Regional de Equipos Médicos de Emergencias (EMT) de la OPS/OMS para la implementación de actividades de la iniciativa EMT durante la respuesta y recuperación en Haití, en particular el apoyo al gobierno para el desarrollo y despliegue de equipos nacionales.

Educación (Calificaciones/Diplomas)

Esencial: título universitario en ciencias de la salud

Deseable: Se valorará conocimientos de herramientas y metodologías de la iniciativa de Equipos Médicos de Emergencia

Experiencia Laboral

Esencial: Experiencia laboral al menos de 7 años combinada trabajando con la gestión, coordinación y despliegue de equipos médicos de emergencia


Conocimiento práctico del francés y se valorara el conocimiento de español e ingles.
