Internship opportunities at the ITER Organization

Task Title: INTERN-ENGN06-Integrated Cooling Water Analysis Domain: Engineering Domain Department: Central Integration Office Division: Physical & Functional Integration Div. Section: System Integration Section Duration (in months): 6 Location: France, 13067 St Paul Lez Durance Cedex Description of tasks:

ITER is composed of multiple systems which interact with each other. some of them require cooling and others provide cooling capabilities. The objective of this internship is to develop an integrated analysis of cooling water systems, specifically on heat loads, flows and protection to confirm the global consistency of the different systems.

Task 1: Build a data collection table centralizing and consolidating all interface data (heat loads, flow conditions in different modes, chemical and mechanical aspects.); Task 2: Integrated assessment of overpressure protection, identification of overpressure sources, localization of protection devices; Task 3: Synthesis report with the identification of the potential inconsistencies and remedial actions like verification of relief/protection capabilities.

The ITER Organization offers internship opportunities to undergraduate and postgraduate students with the objective of providing these students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in their field of study, whilst collaborating in an international, scientific and multicultural environment. Internships are offered for up to six months, extendable for up to one year (depending on the category). To find out more about our internship program, please refer to our website (click here)
