The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 19,000-field staff.

In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Dnipro, Poltava, Vinnitsa, Lviv, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Odesa.

The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the position of ICT Specialist in its delegation in Donetsk.


The ICT Specialist installs, maintains, and manages ICT systems and services, and provides first and second-level support to ICT users in the area of responsibility defined by his position.

Functional general responsibilities:

  • Independently installs, maintains, repairs and monitors ICT equipment in line with standards.
  • As a part of the support services handles tickets or escalates them as per agreed workflow.
  • Ensures existing ICT infrastructure is functional.
  • Ensures that global/country-level policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Briefs, advises and trains end-users and peers on the ICRC’s ICT systems.
  • Provides technical support to users.
  • Drafts and updates technical documentation for ICT installations.
  • Ensures inventory is updated as per procedures and carries out regular physical checks.
  • Ensures and is responsible for the attribution and storage of equipment
  • Maintains contacts with suppliers/providers and follows ICRC logistics and ICT procedures
  • Ensures ICT inventory is updated regularly and maintains adequate stocks levels.

The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT, electronics, computer science, telecommunications or similar field.
  • 3-4 years’ troubleshooting experience in an area of the ICT service catalogue (e.g. workplace services, telecommunications, IT, help desk, etc.)
  • Good command (spoken and written) of English.
  • Capacity to adhere to and to implement procedures.
  • Rigor, method and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness for regular business trips.
