To support this important work, we are now looking for a Head of Partnership Development who can help drive and develop our work with new and potential partners.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for a Head of Partnership Development with a solid background in partnership building and resource mobilization and a proven track record of creating impactful results in multi-stakeholder environments.

The candidate we are looking for will be responsible for developing and managing the new business pipeline, increasing the variety and volume of our partnerships, and ensuring all relationships deliver impact for children and the partner. We aim to create a better world for children by securing and developing strategic, long-term partnerships with top DK companies and foundations that deliver high-quality funds and valuable resources to our work.

Ideally, you will have experience with partnership development and resource mobilization in a global context. At UNICEF Denmark, we work with many different types of partners who operate both in Denmark and globally, and we aim to create meaningful and mutually beneficial engagements with companies and foundations across a broad range of sectors. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate successful and impactful results from working in or with international organizations, companies, and contexts and a candidate who thrives in international multi-stakeholder organizational set-ups, where collaboration, negotiation, and diplomacy are key elements of success.

The position

In UNICEF Denmark, we manage some of UNICEFs most ambitious and impactful partnerships with companies and foundations who are globally engaged in support of UNICEFs mandate and work for all children. As the Head of Partnership Development, you will work closely with the rest of the Partnerships Division and colleagues from various departments to help develop strategic partnerships. Collaboration with colleagues from UNICEF Country Offices, and at HQ in New York and Geneva will also be a central part of the role. You will be part of the management team in the Partnerships Division and report to the Head of Strategic Partnerships.

The successful candidate is driven by working in support of UNICEFs mandate and enjoys applying their expertise to seek opportunities for shared value partnerships to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead on building a multi-million new business strategy and pipeline, securing high-value and long-term income through new national and international partnerships with Danish headquartered businesses and foundations.
  • Lead and develop a high-functioning Business Development team providing effective and inspiring team leadership and line management to ensure there is an integrated and seamless approach to partnership development in UNICEF Denmark
  • Accurately budget, forecast, and identify risks and opportunities within the new business portfolio to deliver and contribute to the Partnership Divisions’ income targets.

  • Contribute to the overall Partnerships division as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, embedding cross-divisional ways of working to maximize all opportunities and further the mission of UNICEF
  • Develop excellent relationships with colleagues across the organization, both in Denmark and internationally, in order to deliver on the partnership development strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working in international organizations, preferably with UN experience or other global organizations or contexts.
  • A proven ability to effectively manage partnership development initiatives and resource mobilization, as well as team management and high-profile engagements.
  • Experience in management, strategic planning, developing and monitoring annual plans, income and expenditure budgets.
  • Languages: Fluent in English, with excellent writing skills.
