In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Dnipro, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Odesa.

The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the position of Forklift Operator in its sub-delegation in Luhansk


The Forklift Operator loads, unloads, moves and stacks products and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment, under the responsibility of the Storekeeper and in accordance with safety instructions.

Functional general responsibilities:

  • Participates in warehouse inventory counts.
  • Arranges goods in the warehouse according to instructions.
  • Assists in carrying, strapping, weighing, labelling and packing goods to be shipped out.
  • May supervise day loaders and workers.
  • Assists in loading consignments ready for dispatch.
  • Updates bin cards and stock cards when supervising an inventory transaction.
  • Keeps the facility’s equipment and materials neat, clean and orderly; inspects and performs minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment and reports any malfunctions.
  • Ensures that risks are mitigated by performing the controls assigned to his/her role as described in the Logistics Risk and Control MatrixThe employee may be asked to perform duties and task not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when necessary

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of spoken English
  • Ability to count, read and write.
  • Forklift licence.
  • One year’s experience in a similar position.
