Background of this search :

Established in 1959, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. It provides loans, grants, guarantees, policy advice and technical assistance to the public and private sectors of its borrowing member countries.

The Human Resources Department (HRD) is responsible for the administration and development of the human resources in the IDB Group. It also oversees the implementation of the “Human Capital Strategy” building and implementing programs and methodologies in direct support of our results-based business model and focusing on the development of the IDB Group’s talent and technical skills capacity. Leadership and Employee Development Division (HRD/LDV), reporting to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Advisor.

The LDV/DEI Team is presently looking for an experienced Short-Term Consultant to support the Leadership and Employee Development Division (HRD/LDV) and who will directly report to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Advisor.

The team’s mission:

The DEI team advances the IDB Group’s commitment to become an organization which reflects the region which we serve and a culture where everyone feels represented and valued and has equitable opportunities to learn, grow and contribute their best. They do this by designing and implementing strategies, initiatives and programs for all employees in IDB and IDB Invest assigned to Headquarters and the Country Offices and by monitoring and reporting on DEI programs to foster sustainable change and position the IDB Group as an employer of choice.

Reporting to the DEI Team, the DEI Short-Term Consultant will support the DEI team to prepare a series of presentations of results of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Survey 2022 for each Department and Organizational Unit at the IDB Group.

The IDB Group administered a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Survey during the second quarter of 2022. The purpose of the survey was to take the pulse of the organization in regard to diversity, equity and inclusion as well as compiling key demographic data. The acquired data is being used to partner with supervisors in the implementation of targeted actions for improvement in their organizational areas and drive institutional decisions around Human Capital Management.

What you’ll do:

To actively assist in the communication of the DEI Survey results tailored to each Department and Organizational Unit. This includes performing a variety of activities including the analysis of information in Spanish and English, preparation of power point presentations, edit documents, guidelines, and other analytical and support activities as requested.

Main Activities

To be performed in collaboration with the Team Leader of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Team, the selected candidate will:

  • Export and interpret key DEI data from the Mercer Sirota system and interpret the results tailored to each Department and Organizational Unit.
  • Liase with Mercer for the purpose of putting together a series of presentations. Prepare power point presentations for each of the IDB Group Departments and Units. Conduct quality review of the data included in the presentations.
  • Conduct additional analysis of the data using advanced excel or other analytical tools.

Deliverables and Payments timeline :

Power point presentations for each Department and Unit from the IDB Group. Status reports and other reports as requested.

Payments will be made upon the consultant submission of invoices linked to delivery and acceptance by Project Team Leader of the above-mentioned activities. Invoices will account for the number of days worked on a given product, activities performed, and outputs delivered.

Key deliverables

The Consultant will have successfully completed at least thirty (30) and no more than fifty (50) presentations to Departments and Units. The consultant’s fees will be determined per day worked. The consultancy is not to exceed sixty (60) working days.

Characteristics of the presentations:

  • Presentations will have a duration of one (1) hour.
  • Prepare tailored presentations for each Unit/Department using the Mercer Sirota system.
  • Prepare and complete 4-5 presentations per week.
  • Presentations will be prepared in English or Spanish (as requested by each Department or Unit).
  • Presentations will be presented virtually.

What you’ll need:

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or related is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of (3) years of relevant professional experience in the use of Microsoft Power Point, Excel, data analysis and Survey Data Analysis.
  • Languages : English and Spanish.

Core and Technical Competencies:

Solid data analysis, communications (oral and visual) and presentation.
