ICMP, in 2022, transitioned its financial reporting system from Navision version 2014 to Exact Online.

The Consultant, Accounting and Reporting is responsible to provide support in updating and ensuring ICMP’s accounting records are up to date. Review the EXACT online system to ensure staff utilize up to 90% of its capacity. This is to facilitate that all financial records are prepared in line with IFRS standards. Under the overall guidance of the Director CS and Interim controller, the consultant should address and delivery on the following: Expenses

  • Reconcile opening balances in EXACT online with Navision or with the Auditors closing statement for 2021 which will lead to the opening balance sheet as of 1st January 2022
  • Bank and cash reconciliation documented on monthly basis. All bank statements are recorded in the system up to September 30th
  • Ensure opening balance accruals are matched to suppliers as much as possible and clear these accruals till October 30th 2022
  • Working with the various regional teams and HQ staff in Identifying and posting bank costs to specific projects where applicable
  • Working with HQ staff in identifying LAB costs and applying these to various projects
  • Reconcile monthly payroll from Navision payroll with Payroll postings in Exact online
  • Post payroll with charges against projects for Q1, Q2 and Q3 (or at least till the end of October 2022
  • Ensure all remaining expenses are recorded in Q1, Q2, and Q3.
  • Matching Cigna invoices and Medevac to projects
  • Ensure all disbursement requests are raised and payments matched against payments received
  • Ensuring deferred accounts are matched to all projects, plus review all prepayments and advance accounts

  • Balance sheet accounts payable are reconciled
  • Balance sheet accounts receivable are reconciled and provisions for made for bad debt
  • Cash balances or movements per month or quarter leading to a cash position on a monthly basis
  • Revaluation of exchange rate on a monthly basis.
  • Set up accounting monthly closure check list
  • Revise fixed assets and inventory valuation, depreciation and bookings


  • Review staff time for all projects which is recorded against project budgets for -Q1 and Q2- Q3
  • Invoice or generate revenues based on staff time, costs and operational overhead
  • Run final financial reports income statement and balance sheet- as of October 30th

The consultant should deliver on the above tasks at the end of the assignment. The consultant will have capacity resources availed in the form of regional finance officers and 4 accounting staff members. The consultant is expected to deliver a monthly closing procedure and a monthly closing template for reporting purposes. Details of the closing package are to be agreed.

Findings, progress, and deliverables are to be reported on a bi-weekly basis in the form of summary email/note and discussed via direct meeting with the CS director, and a final report should be submitted at the end of the assignment.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • CPA- certificate
  • At least 10 years of experience in preparing financial records
  • Experience in working and designing closing processes based on various ERP systems
  • Experience in financial reporting utilizing Power BI is an advantage
